What is a Master Key?

The term "master key," is used very loosely. A large part of understanding how security can be beneficial to your particular application is to understand how master key systems work. Many people refer to a master key as the key that opens their lock. This is a very general definition, as there can be different levels of master keys and this will allow access into different areas by different people. The actual master key of a master key system is the key that has full access to all different doors. There may be lower level masters that only allow access into certain sections of a system and then there may also be user level keys that only allow access into specific doors. The master keying process can be very complicated but Lock and Safe of Kearney fully understands master key systems and their implementation. Lock and Safe of Kearney can explain how to best implement a system in your business or home in easy to understand terms and examples. High Security master keying is also available.
